Nice Scam - Thieves defraud $750,0000 in Online Music Royalties

Some scams are kind of... elegant. A group of 10 thieves created a bunch fake songs and posted them to Amazon and Apple's iTunes. They "bought" digital copies of the songs ($750,000 worth) with stolen credit cards and collected around $300,000 in royalties between September 2008 and January 2009.

.. and were caught in June 2009.

Actually, pretty effective international cooperation between the US and the UK. One could imagine how difficult this would be with less "amenable" countries.
